iCLA’s Interdisciplinary Arts major includes courses in Visual arts(fine Art and graphic design), Music(audio engineering, and digital & sonic art), Language Studies(creative writing, literary analysis, and linguistics) and Performance Art (Western and Japanese film andtheater). It is designed to let you study creative practice across these areas while gaining valuable cultural experience through our Japanese cultural workshops and study abroad program. In this major, you can also follow a Japan-focused study path with courses in Japanese theatre, film, art and crafts, manga, anime, literature, and culture to help you get the most out of this amazing country.
Interdisciplinary Arts inspires you to go beyond your boundaries, explore new thoughts and ideas, and have new experiences, enhancing your creative skills and expanding your creative options.Our interdisciplinary approach allows you to build your degree from a wide array of courses and subject areas to best reflect your passions and ambitions.It also gives you the flexibility to focus on one area of the arts, or combine different disciplines, so you can supplement one with another. Studying these disciplines from practical, theoretical and historical viewpoints gives you the opportunity to get a deep understanding of your selected subjects and the creative process. It also ensures that you graduate with the transferable knowledge, abilities and skills required to secure employment in the creative arts or pursue a career as a freelance artist.

All applicants must hold, or be expected to hold upon entry to iCLA, a high school diploma equivalent to a Japanese senior high school graduation, having completed 12 years of education.
It is optional to submit a standardized test or university entrance qualification exam such as the SAT test.
Language Requirements
Non-native English speaking students must demonstrate English language proficiency with a TOEFL iBT score of 76, an IELTS score of 6.0, a Duolingo score of 95 or by providing an equivalent accepted English language qualification as shown in “Appendix A” of the Application Guidelines. In principle, this requirement is waived for native English speaking students.
There is no requirement for Japanese language proficiency to enter iCLA.
iCLA offers a tuition fee reduction scholarship from 25%, 50%, 75% up to 100%. All international students can apply for the scholarship program as part of the online admission process. And if awarded, the scholarship will cover the full four years of the studies at iCLA.
