Overview
If you want to work in the events sector - either working for a company or starting your own business - this course will teach you how to organise events with a particular focus on the hospitality provision.
We take advantage of our London location, giving you the opportunity to attend high-profile events and a variety of venues to gain exposure to the industry in action. As well as live event projects, you'll learn through practical teaching such as case studies and team projects, to understand the fundamentals of event management.
You will learn marketing, operations and logistics, human resources, and accounting and finance to give you the grounding needed to understand the scope of practical planning for events. This is then combined with an understanding of the service industry with modules on food, drink and restaurant management.
Our established links with event industry associations such as Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the Event and Visual Communication Association (EVCOM), the International Live Events Association (ILEA), and the Association for Events Management Education (AEME) gives you networking opportunities for work experience and career development.
Career and study progression
With a core understanding of the intricacies of event management combined with hospitality, and exposure to an array of events across London, you will gain transferable skills for a range of careers in international or UK events management.
You may also wish to undertake postgraduate study to specialise in a subject you've already studied, or to explore something new.
