Ourthree-year degree course is run by experienced paramedics and healthcareeducators. We combine academic university-based study with clinical work placements, where a range of healthprofessionals will assist in your paramedic training.
We will prepare you with theright skills and expertise to undertake this dynamic and challenging role in theout-of-hospital environment.
If youare based at our Avery Hill campus you will undertake your clinical work-basedpractice with the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. On the Medway degree youwill work with the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
Yourtraining with us will prepare you to apply with the Health and Care ProfessionsCouncil as a registered paramedic.
Duringyour training you are taught to assess, treat, refer or discharge patientsacross all age ranges. As a paramedic you will be working primarily withfrontline NHS ambulance teams, responding to acute medical or traumaticemergencies.
Paramedicsnow also work in a variety of other challenging settings, including primarycare services, minor injuries units and accident and emergency departments as well as ambulance services. Our experttutors prepare you to be professional and resilient as well as having the rightcombination of skill, knowledge and patient care.
