This degree will give you an understanding of the global events industry and help you to develop your career as an event professional. You will gain the skills and confidence to plan, design, deliver and evaluate events.
You will study in London, one of the greatest cities in the world for events, and home to world-class facilities such as ExCeL London and The O2. You will learn from teaching staff with extensive industry experience and connections and have opportunities to gain hands-on experience by working on projects.
You will be able to volunteer or work on a variety of live events, such as conferences, exhibitions, sporting events, festivals and live music shows.This includes working on a live event project while collaborating with industry and peers to deliver an actual event.
You will also have the option to undertake a work placement in your third year. You will learn about event operations, marketing, human resource management, business management, enterprise and strategy, event finance and event production.
EmployabilityYou will connect with employers through our dedicated Business School Employability Team who focus on developing your employment skills. They also provide you with CV support and will invite you to employment fairs to network with employers and recruiters from industries. The team was shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.
We are actively improving job prospects for graduates through the support we provide. According to survey findings, 93 per cent of 2014/15 Greenwich graduates looking for work were already in jobs or further study by January 2016.
Experience abroadYou can participate in the Erasmus+ international exchange programme. This will help improve your language skills and give you experience of living and working in another country. The Erasmus+ Scheme provides a grant towards the cost of studying abroad for a year.
Extracurricular activitiesOur Greenwich Employability Passport scheme recognises and rewards your participation in additional activities such as part-time work, volunteering, student societies or industry guest lectures.
Business start-upYou will be encouraged to enter the university's Enterprise Challenge which rewards student entrepreneurship and innovation. Previous winners received a prize of £5,000 for their idea of developing an enterprise and study hub.
