Our GCC-recognised MSc Chiropractic is specifically designed for students currently studying a chiropractic course, but who wish to complete their studies with a postgraduate MSc qualification. An MSc may be desirable if you are considering a career in research or academia, or may be preferred by some national associations.
Through our MSc Chiropractic course you will build on your practical skills and knowledge to develop your assessment and management of chiropractic patients. Learn how to improve your critical thinking, research and communication skills and utilise our specialist equipment to collect data for use in clinical and rehabilitative research. You will progress your existing research methodology knowledge by learning more complex concepts, informing your own research study which you will combine with your clinical placement in our state-of-the-art chiropractic clinic, providing you with a richly diverse patient population.
Your two-year placement will be in our on-site chiropractic clinic, a high-quality healthcare facility offering musculoskeletal care to the public. Here you will gain hands-on clinical experience under direct supervision of experienced and registered clinical tutors, including chiropractors and other healthcare professionals. Your self-directed study will be enhanced by your real-world experience, where you will interact, engage and work with other healthcare practitioners, growing your knowledge and confidence in a supportive, challenging and caring environment.
Observations with other allied health professions will allow you to contextualise the role of chiropractors within the wider health community and will be arranged by our course team, alongside you being able to arrange your own observational opportunities from which you can learn and reflect.
You will also undertake units aimed at teaching the fundamentals of clinical audit and research in practice, professional and ethical clinical practice, the basics of marketing and small business management and the development of your own clinical and professional development through the use of reflection, so you can become a competent, evidence-informed chiropractor.
