Anthropology as an academic discipline is the scientific study of humanity. It is specifically interested in human behaviour, cultures, societies and human biology, in both historical and contemporary generations of human species. There are various types of anthropological studies, including social anthropology, cultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology and physical or biological anthropology. All of these areas of anthropology are ideal for any student who has an interest in how and why humans are the way we are.
