This course is for you if you’re working in an international or multicultural context. You’ll receive in-depth training in intercultural communication, with a focus on its relevance to people working in business or in other professions (e.g. education, public relations, international diplomacy or international aid).
Core modules focus on culture and communication, developing your ability to analyse, explain and research intercultural communication, and strengthening your practical cultural interaction skills. You can also choose from optional modules that enable you to specialise in various communication and/or professionally oriented areas. The programme can be tailored to your own needs and interests, so you get to decide what and how you study. You may decide to explore your own interests through a dissertation, or you may prefer to complete a four-week experiential placement and major project. The placement gives you the option to study at one of our linked overseas universities, in China for example, or even select your own approved international institution.
Our graduates typically combine the expertise they gain on this course with the specialism of their first degree, moving into fields such as human resources, marketing, management, international development, intercultural training, and translation.
