Why study Marketing?

Marketing is a crucial aspect for any organization, acting as a link to customers, providing external perspective, steering innovation and growth, and driving revenue, value, and loyalty.

The Marketing program at the Alberta School of Business is built on the strength of our faculty's world-class research in the areas of retailing, market research, and consumer behavior. The program combines research-based principles with innovative teaching methods: in addition to lectures and discussions, you'll participate in managerial cases, group projects, and market simulations. You'll also develop practical skills in areas such as consumer and market analysis, managerial decision-making, and implementing marketing programs, preparing you to engage in sophisticated marketing practice.

Entry requirements

There is no direct entry from high school into the Bachelor of Commerce program (BCom). Students must first complete a year of university in another Faculty or postsecondary institution and take courses in English, Economics, Mathematics and Statistics. Admission to the BCom is competitive based on performance in the required courses and a student's overall academic record.

Fees, Funding and Scholarships at University of Alberta

The University of Alberta offers a wide ranges of scholarships to international students. You will be evaluated for these scholarships when you apply for admission. Your eligibility will be based on your high school admission average at the time of your admission offer. We'll assess you for a match to the following three schoolarship. If you are eligible for an admission-based scholarship we will contact you directly!

  • International Admissions Scholarship-up to $5,000
  • Regional Excellence Scholarship- up to $5,000
  • Gold Standard Scholarship- up to $6,000

You can also apply for our prestigious application based scholarships. Each year we award twenty five, $120K President's International Distinction scholarships.
