Expand and enrich your current skills in our world-class production and studio facilities and state-of-the-art TV studio.
Learning is hands-on and you will write, produce, film and post-produce a plethora of digital video content. Over the course of the year, you will be involved in making real TV shows and films that are broadcast on community TV and Melbourne Polytechnic’s own WebTV station.
You will gain experience in camera and sound recording, and computer-based workflows. Learn all the aspects of single cam production so you can shoot stories in the field.
You’ll also learn the stages of TV and digital film production, network and create a compelling portfolio to land your first professional job. Get job-ready to get ahead in this competitive industry.

Melbourne Polytechnic minimum academic level differs depending on the course. Most certificate and diploma level courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 11 or 12, bachelor degree courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 12, and master degree courses require evidence of completion to studies AQF (Australian) Bachelor degree or overseas equivalent.
If you do not meet Melbourne Polytechnic’s academic entry-level requirements but have acquired skills or knowledge relevant to your chosen course, you may apply as a mature age student. A mature age student is considered to be over 18 years old, and has been out of full-time education for at least one year.
