You will present a minor project reflective of topical themes and issues and that has developed your professional practice either as an artist, designer, writer, musician or other arts professional (at the end of this degree). This project is supported by work in a studio and with a focus on initiating and exploring innovative projects with industry.
The learning goals and objectives for the GDCI are based around developing the relevant knowledge and analytical, critical and study skills necessary to building ventures in the creative industries. You should be able to find employment through creative enterprise, as an arts professional, practicing artist, self-employed arts entrepreneur or within the public service sector and/or academic creative arts related fields.
As a domestic/local student, you may be eligible for a Victorian Government subsidy. Check with the institution if you want more information about this.
Melbourne Polytechnic minimum academic level differs depending on the course. Most certificate and diploma level courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 11 or 12, bachelor degree courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 12, and master degree courses require evidence of completion to studies AQF (Australian) Bachelor degree or overseas equivalent.
If you do not meet Melbourne Polytechnic鈥檚 academic entry-level requirements but have acquired skills or knowledge relevant to your chosen course, you may apply as a mature age student. A mature age student is considered to be over 18 years old, and has been out of full-time education for at least one year.
