About International Business Management, BSc - at Mälardalen University

The International Business Management programme is for those who want a challenging career in the international world of business and who want to study in English together with students from all over the world. The programme focuses on business administration with in-depth focus on management issues, and prepares you for a job as a manager, salesperson or to start your own business in a globalized business world.

As an international business manager you plan, organise, delegate and control activities in global organisations and businesses. International business managers focus on coordinating activities leading to achieving company goals, taking into account cultural differences and regional governmental situations. Given the fact that the impact of globalisation is evident in the market place, this job position holds much promise as a fast-growing area.

The studies focus on business administration with an in-depth focus on international management. The learning activities include traditional lectures, but also require active participation in exercises, the writing of papers, presentations and discussions in seminars. During your studies you will also develop your personal skills concerning oral/written presentations, creative problem solving, entrepreneurship and team work, as well as critical thinking, information search and assessment of relevant business research. Close contacts with society, teachers and other students are essential during the programme. You create your network for future business life already during your study years.

It is strongly encouraged that you participate in one of the exchange programmes offered for one or two semesters in another country. This gives you the opportunity to develop your intercultural and language skills.

Notes about fees for this course

Starting with the academic year 2011/2012, students who are citizens of countries outside the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, are required to pay a tuition fee for studies in Sweden.

Entry requirements

Studies in Mathematics of 3 years from Upper Secondary School with a Science profile and a TOEFL test result, minimum score 575 with a TWE score of at least 4,5 (PBT) or 90 with a TWE score of at least 20 (iBT)/IELTS test result with an overall band score of minimum 6,5 and no band score below 5,5.
