About Sustainability in Polymer Engineering, MEng - at Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT)

Laptop or smartphone, biros and break box, components for machines, systems or cars - plastic wherever you look. It is impossible to imagine industry and business without plastics as a material, just like the finished plastic products we use in our everyday lives. The low specific density of polymers and their ability to form a practically infinite variety of shapes make them indispensable materials for the industrial world of today and tomorrow. But polymers also have a crucial role to play in improving energy efficiency and achieving CO2 neutrality.

From design, product development and testing to production and recycling, all areas of polymer technology are covered in this Master's degree programme. In addition to the importance of recycling and reprocessing, the programme also focuses on sustainability as a guiding principle throughout the entire product life cycle and beyond.

The English-taught Master's programme is designed as a full-time course and spans three semesters.

If you have not completed a German-taught Bachelor's degree, you can improve your German language skills to a B1 level during the course, ensuring the best possible entry into the German job market.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering & Mechatronics places great emphasis on practical teaching. Therefore, in many subjects, practicals are assessed alongside theoretical foundations. Project work is also an integral part of the programme.
